Our city includes as many green spaces as possible.

We have a great number of parks, all ideally within 15 minutes walking distance from each resident. Parks are essential in a sustainable city and provide many services including:

- maintaining a healthy ecosystem

- providing space for wildlife

- cleaning the air by absorbing CO2

- cleaning water

- naturally cooling surroundings, resulting in less energy usage

Parks also offer many benefits to the society and health:

- social areas for people of all economic backgrounds, which leads to stronger communities

- lower levels of crime and vandalism

- experiencing and appreciating nature

- promote physical activity

- reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure, boost happiness

We believe that if humans are closer to nature, they act in respect to the environment. Due to this communities should provide communal activities in parks such as yoga or jogging, which also promote the overall health of the city's inhabitants. This helps combat the abundance of the diseases of affluence we see today.

Our group also thinks that building schools next to or in parks is beneficial to society. Children would have the possibility to learn better, because trees are calming and improve cognitive functions. Kids would grow up interacting with nature rather than being estranged from it. The parks would also benefit children building up their immune system as they come in contact with many different types of germs.

To include more trees and green spaces we have large backyards. This especially helps people relax and decreases their stress levels, after coming home from work, and provides the city with clean air.

Here are two pictures of how we imagine the backyards to look like, surrounded by buildings.

Trees along roads would also help clean air and are a constant reminder of nature.
